I talked about Cooks in the previous post, so it seemed fitting to do them next.
Cooks can be old or young, male or female. The only requirements are that they are excellent cooks. Cooks can take on apprentices that are old as 18 or as young as 7. They will pass on what they know to their Apprentice until the Apprentice is experienced enough to be a Cook, or until the Apprentice turns 18.
From Left to Right:
Sydnie, 41, is the Head Cook. She has a husband and two sons. Shown next is Beatrix, 18, the Apprentice to Sydnie. Next year she will become a Cook.
Tia is 33. She has a husband (Prosper), a son (Franklinn) and a daughter (Derica). She is a very good cook and loves her job. She has an apprentice, shown next, Ceri, age seven. Ceri is the daughter of a townswoman named Pepper, and is working at the castle to get some more income for the family. Ceri is a bright, energetic girl and loves making things, so she is well suited to the job. Last is Euen. She is, as you can see, a Yellowie. She knows many spectacular secret Yellowie recipes and so is a valued cook. She is 51.

Workers of the Palace: Cooks

Workers of the Palace: Hunters
Moving on from the Royals to the Workers of the Palace - we are now focusing on the Hunters. The Hunters job is to hunt wild animals and deliver the carcasses to the Cook, who will then cook them and serve them for the Royal Family as a meal.
Now, the Hunters and Cooks don't have to provide for all the people working in the palace. The servants, who are hired help, must bring their own food to work with them somehow. That, or they are permitted to cut their wages in half and dine with all the other servants.
The slaves, however, are property of the King, and so must be fed by him.
So, the Hunters and Cooks must hunt/cook enough food to feed the Royal Family and all the slaves and whichever servants have paid for their meals.
Sometimes, livestock will be killed and the Hunters don't have to work as hard.
Here are the Hunters who work at the Palace. They hunt in special laid out hunting grounds that are never empty of deer, bears, mountain lions and other animals.
To be a hunter you have to have your own bow and arrow, you must have excellent aim and good reflexes, and you must know the forest well.
From left to right: Lenita used to be a Bluie. (Blue-ie.) Which means she had blue skin. However, tired of the racism that was so strong a decade or two ago, she saved for a special potion that would turn her into a human. Until she had saved up enough for it, she lived on Educain Island. As shown in the picture, she still wears traditional Bluie clothing - a dress made of Octopus skin and seaweed to tie her hair with. Lenita has been a Hunter for the Palace of Bivir for several years now and she is the Head Hunter. She is 20 years old.
Lorcan Hollow, though extremely short, looks and acts well beyond his 16 years. He used to be a scholar before he turned to becoming a Hunter. No one really knows why he left his studies for hunting; though some of his friends suspect it might be because he wants to prove himself a man.
Lorcan does not like the next three Hunters, particularly because of how tall they are...
The last three Hunters are a race called Spikes. They are extremely good hunters and don't need weapons. The spikes that they can make shoot out of their arms and legs (whenever they want) serve for amazing weapons.
The first Spike is Lrrl Leaf-Blade, aged 18. She is a very famous Spike back in her Tribe. She has bigger spikes and more special powers than other Spikes do. The Head Spike of the tribe thought that because she was so powerful, she would try to take over his tribe, and so he banished her. Lrrl came to Bivir and became a Hunter there. She plans to explore the world though, and may not stay there for long.
Then we have Rhyss Prince-Leaf, age 18. Rhyss was son of the Head-Spike. He had everything going for him back in his village, but being in love with Lrrl, he decided to leave his future behind in the village and hopefully find a new one with Lrrl.
Wmf Sorrel-Spike always wanted adventure, and so he left the village along with Rhyss. He is 19. Though older than the other two Spikes, Wmf is not sure what he wants to do with his life.
The last hunter is Zelig, age 27. (It is noted that the clothing of Lorcan Hollow and of Zelig is standard Hunter clothing). He originally was a Hunter for a different Palace, but he came to Bivir and signed on as a Hunter very recently. Cool and collected, with a great aim and natural quietness, Zelig makes a great hunter.

The Royalty of Bivir
The Imperial Palace is located in Shallow, Bivir's capital. It holds all of the royals of Bivir, their servants and slaves, and many other things.
A long time ago the Imperial Palace in Bivir was different from the Palace. The Imperial Palace was home to all the royals and advizers, and the Palace was home to all the servants and slaves. But the King found that it was tiring to go back and forth from Palace to Imperial Palace. So now the Palace and the Imperial Palace are the same thing.
And now, here's an introduction to the Royal Family...
This is the "immediate" royal family. King Laban Lightwing is 22 years old. He is a Faerie, and not of royal blood. He married Queen Donalda when they were young. He was in fact, from the slums, and there was lots of talk about him, a slum faerie, becoming King of Bivir. But he and Donalda loved each other and so it happened.
Queen Donalda was not supposed to be Queen of Bivir. She had an elder sister, Ashanti, who was temporarily Queen of Bivir with her husband Tobias. But Tobias was a bad ruler and so he and Ashanti were banished from the land and Donalda became Queen. Donalda is now 21 years old.
The Crown Prince Roydon Evelyn Lightwing is 5 years old. He loves playing with toy wagons and chariots and is very energetic.
This is the Head Advizer, Andrew Shrew. The Shrew family is the largest family in the Palace.
Andrew, 42, has been an Advizer since he was very young. He was once the "most handsome man in the Palace." He married Amity, (now 41) Princess of Kigir, because it was the wish of the King, but fell in love with her after their marriage. They had many children together. Shown are two of their children, Tristram, 12, and Lem, 3. Andrew is very distantly related to the Queen.
Milo is Queen Donalda's uncle, though he is only 25 years old. He is learning how to be an advizer, under the instruction of Head Advizer Andrew Shrew. He doesn't seem cut out for the job of Advizer (he enjoys chariot racing and diving and other extreme sports...) but Milo is sure this is what he wants to do. He married a noblewoman, Daria, when he became Advizer. She is 19 years old.
In the middle is Andrew and Amity's eldest child, Cynthia. She is 26. She had a long courtship with nobleman Moon Sealy, and they finally got married after Moon became King's Man. Moon is now Head King's Man. He is 29 years old. The King's Man basically runs the castle for the King.
Cynthia and Moon's daughter, Eleanor, is 2.
Yuri is 23. He is the second eldest of Andrew and Amity's children. He is an advizer. He was married to a noblewoman named Malvina, but she disappeared one day and hasn't been seen since. Yuri has two children, twins, age 4. The boy is Jerrel and the girl is Zodie.
Here is another of Andrew and Amity's sons. Irvine is 20. He is married to a Taskurian girl, Akilah, age 17. Irvine is a King's Man.
Verdun, age 17, another one of Andrew and Amity's sons, is training to become an Advizer, but he wants to be a King's Man. He is still deciding which career path to follow. His wife, the pretty and smart Edelle, age 15, is an artist and a Brownie.
Timothee is not Andrew and Amity's son, but they adopted him because he is distantly related to them and orphaned. Tim, as he is called, is 15 and just got married to 15 year old Vernetta, a Taskurian noblewoman. He is training to be a King's Man.
This is Andrew's younger brother, Zac. He is an Advizer. The jobs of Advizer and King's Man seem to run in the Shrew family. Zac is 33.
He married Sierra, the daughter of a previous Advizer of a previous King. Sierra is 30 but they have had no children.
This is Father King Nick. He is the Father of Donalda. Nick fell in love with a mermaid, Lillie, and so is perfectly happy with his daughter marrying a Faerie. He was glad to retire and give up his rule because he and Lillie wanted to move to a sea castle (half in the water, half out) where they could live together happily and peacefully.
On the right is Princess Ashanti, formerly Queen Ashanti. She was banished from the land along with her husband, Tobias (not pictured). Tobias and Ashanti returned to Bivir to try to take back the throne. Tobias was caught and beheaded. Ashanti should have been too, by law, but King Laban immediately pardoned her, for it was discovered that she had had no part in her husband's doings. She was given back her title of Princess and is now engaged to 30 year old Tuvyah Mitford (on the left), and Elf. Ashanti is 26.
This is King Laban's family, besides his brother, shown below. Laban's father, Lex Lightwing, is a jovial man of 49. His wife and Laban's mother, Chaka, age 43, loves palace life and is very proud of her son.
Alana Lightwing, age 13 (though she looks much older...) is Laban's oldest sister. She got in an accident and her wings were badly mangled. They were amputated and now Alana is a wingless faerie. It is being decided whether or not surgery should take place so that Alana can get new wings. It is Alana's choice, but she doesn't mind not having wings.
Desiree is 11. She is a cheerful young girl and loves flitting around the gardens.
This is Laban's brother, Ingvar. He is 19. Ingvar is not sure what he wants to do with his life. He is currently living in the Palace but wants to travel. He just recently married the young Marta Kerulayo, age 13.
These are all the Queen Handmaidens. From left to right: Lady Emma is 16 and Taskurian. (Taskurian is a race of people. They have tan skin while humans skin is white). Lady Eve, also Taskurian, is 14. She loves archery. Lady Linda, 19, enjoys sewing and embroidery, and is a little bossy. Lady Mary, age 18, is quiet, stately and beautiful. Lady Penina, age 19, is a shy but pretty half Chinian girl. The last of the Queen's six Handmaidens is Lady Holland, age 18, an impulsive and slightly immature Taskurian girl.
This is Liam and Minzii. They are sort of "random royalty," which means that they are variously related to the Royal Family or the Advizer, and have chosen to stay and live in the Palace.
Liam is 43. He had many brothers and one of his brothers, Leif, married one of the Queens of Bivir from a few generations ago. All his brothers have died or left the palace, and Liam did too for a while. He explored the world and even changed race. (He was human, but took a rare and expensive potion to turn him into Taskurian). After years abroad, he returned to the Palace to live comfortably into his old age.
Minzii Sword was married to a King of Kigir, Lex, and when he died she was married to an Advizer of Bivir. He died too and now Minzii is alone. She and Liam are good friends.
Minzii is 43 as well as Liam, and she is a Magical Mini Angel. Magical Mini Angels are a very rare race. Their true form is a Faerie with yellow wings, but "Magical" Mini Angels can change shape. The only thing that identifies them is a small "X" on their forehead.
Mini Angels can live forever, but can allow themselves to grow old and die. Minzii has chosen this.

A Summary of the Lands of Rynn
Bivir - Bivir was the first land ever found. It is one of the largest as well. The people there are called Bivirians. Bivir stands for the initials of my name - BVR. My sisters and I thought it was cool if we named our lands after our initials, and thats where Jatir, Kigir, Kilir, and a few other lands (all ending in "R") came from.
Kigir - Kigir was the second land ever discovered. The people there are called Kigirians. Kigir has always been under the influence of Bivir and has mostly the same rules and protocol as Bivir does.
Kilir - The people here are called Kilirians. At first the Kilirians were a very simple folk, but over the years they grew into a strong country. From this country comes many famous exploreres who have discovered new animal species. In fact, Kilir is abounding with wildlife. More new animal species are discovered every day.
Hijir - The people here are called Hijirians. They are a simple folk.
Baer - Baer once was a strong country with a powerful leader and council. Now, Baer doesn't want much to do with the rest of the world. They have grown peaceful and avoid contact with anyone who is not Baerian.
Jatir - A mysterious country where almost no one lives... it is said that Taskurians originated from here but no one can be sure.
Spydlund - Spydlund was only recently discovered, though it is right in the middle of an ocean that Bivirians travel on. Spydlund is a popular place for immigrants, all people are treated equally. The kings and queens don't have a big say on what goes on, they mostly rule just to give their people an image of a protector over their land. Often kings and queens resign or take office, sometimes on a yearly basis.
Lava Mountain - A much avoided place. Lava Mountain is basically a small island with a large (and active) volcano on it.
Chini - Chinians originated from here. They are now an almost extinct race. The volcano on Lava Mountain had a huge explosion one year and it was so large that it extended into Chini. No one survived, and the land was left scorched and dry. It is now a deserted land, for hundreds of thousands of people died there.
Skinnyland - No one knows if this place really existed. Some explorers came back from an expedition with a foot high, very, very, very thin young man. The little man couldn't talk, only squeak, and he died after about a year living in the palace. The explorers claimed that he came from a land near Chini that they had called Skinnyland, due to his irregular features, but lots of people were doubtful. When another expedition was made, no land was found near Chini. The explorers were called frauds and the matter was dismissed. One of the explorers claimed that the explosion from the volcano had completely wiped the land out, but no one believed this claim.
The Great Mountains - The Great Mountains are located near Kilir. They are the largest mountains in the world and are home to the Yellowies. They are explored all the time in hope that hikers will discover the Yellowies, but no one has ever discovered their home.
The Great Meadow - The Great Meadow is very big, as large as the Great Mountains. It is home to faeries, purplies, greenies and many other creatures. The Great Meadow is a happy place where the flowers, grass, ETC, grow to be an unusual length. Sometimes the flowers get to be 20 feet tall. It is said that it almost never rains, hails, snows or sleets there, unless if something "evil" comes into the meadow and triggers the bad weather.
The Great Desert - The Desert was just "the Desert" for the longest time, until eventually some explorers added "Great" to it's name. It is very large, approximately the size of it's neighboring country, Gacar. The Great Desert is home to a variety of creatures, as well as some traders and a lot of Orangie and Goldie clans. Few know how to survive in the desert, so not many humans live there.
Gacar - Like Kilir, lots of creatures have been discovered here. And like Baer, Gacar doesn't have too much contact with outside world, except for attending a market every once in a while to sell their rare animals.
Swaying Island - Not much is know about Swaying Island, for no one visits it. Why? It's dangerous. True to it's name, the island sways back and forth, and not just a gently rocking. It really gets momentum some times. As far as explorers know there is no life on Swaying Island.
Educain Island - Educain Island is a sort of place of refuge for races of all kinds, besides humans. Humans have always considered themselves the dominant race, and as a result racism spread across the whole entire world. There was a time when it was law that any person who was not human was considered a slave. This went on for a few decades, until the law was finally lifted after the prince of Bivir married a mermaid and then his daughter married a faerie. But there was still a lot of racism. The humans had gotten used to thinking of themselves as master to all other races, and they weren't ready to accept the other races as their equals. During this time a group of people created a refuge on Educain Island, a recently discovered island that was not claimed by anyone. There are not so many people there now since the racism has begun to stop, but it is still a peaceful island, welcome to all people now, including humans.
Invisible Island - Invisible Island is invisible. It has a sort of magnetic field around it that not only hides the island from sight, but also drives away ships. See, instead of attracting the ships like a magnet, it has the opposite effect. If a ship could see Invisible Island and was trying to get to it, the push of the island would be too strong. Only specially made boats made from the trees that grow on Invisible Island can enter Invisible Island with no trouble.
Every ten years or so, Invisible Island chooses to let a few people come and live on it.
Everyone wants to, too, for it is said that the Island is beautiful and rich in resources. There is no such thing as a poor person there.
Flying Pirate Island - Flying Pirate Island is home to all pirates. These pirates don't all fit the sterotype though - most of the pirates are only interested in having a fun time and like to fly their flying ships around. A favorite past time of the pirates is to unmoor a fellow pirates boat, so that it will drift off into the air. The pirate is then alerted by another friend, who is in on the whole thing (no one would want a fellow pirates boat to really float off for good...) and then the pirate has to spend the whole night in his jet pack trying to get the boat back in control. After all, pirate boats have personalities, and though they are always dutiful to their captains, when they are set free like that they get a little giddy and foolish.
Pirates are normally named, and then as they get older, they are give an adjective to go with their name. Like - Mysterious Monty. Daring Demetria. Most humans think this is ridiculous and childish (and it is true - the pirates are a very childish and immature people) but the pirates think it's fun, so they do it. After all, there life revolves around having a good time.
Dragon Island - This is where a lot of dragons originated from, so it was named thus. Dragon trainers and breeders like to set up residence here and the best dragons can be found for sale here.
Forbidden Isle - Whenever the King of Bivir wants to exile someone, he always sends them here. It is a rainy dreary little island and is watched by Bivirian officials and guards. No one who goes there is allowed to leave without the king's say so.
Zaybiel - Zaybiel is where the Giants, more commonly known as Enyas, originated from. It is a beautiful land with lots of lakes, waterfalls, rivers and forests. No one goes there, however, for fear of the giants. (There's nothing to fear though - the Enyas are peaceful folk) Some daring expeditions are made to capture Enyas every once in a while, and hold them prisoner in the king's menagerie, though it's really not as hard as the explorers make it seem.
Prussia - Prussia is the richest country in the world, and perhaps second only to Invisible Island in how beautiful it is. It is ruled by five different kings, and each of the kings are always trying to convince the other of their supreme power and richness. Lots of people go to Prussia for vacation.
New Kigir - New Kigir was discovered and immediately claimed by the Kigirians. The King of Kigir was planning on moving his capital to New Kigir, but upon moving there he found that seventy five percent of the land consisted of lakes and other bodies of water, and the rest was all mushy and wet all the time. Plans were immediately made to move back to Kigir, and it is currently undecided what is to be done with New Kigir. No one really wants to move there.
Relabi and Torano - Relabi and Torano are two neighboring islands. The islands are strong allies with each other. The islanders make lots of things out of the islands natural resources and their shores are the best marketing places to be found, besides Bivir.
Advhar - Advhar was a recently discovered land. It is full of mages, wizards and magic. Their people are generally taller than normal humans and most of them take up magic as their profession. Magic was mostly myth in the rest of the world until the Advharians came to Bivir and introduced it. Not many humans can do even the smallest bit of magic though.
Cannibal Islands - The Cannibal Islands surround one whole side of Advhar. The Islands consist of several very small islands all in a line. Vicious cannibals live there, but the Advharians are smart enough, and with enough magic, to avoid them. Some exploring ships, however, have not had such luck.
Shadow World - The Shadow World is not really a "world," it is simply a regular sized land. Everything black and evil resides their though, and no explorer dares approach it's shores. The capital of Shadow World is Death, where the King of Shadows and Wraiths sits in his humungous, claw shaped tower.
Ice - Ice is a land made of - Ice. Solid, frozen hard ice. It's walls of ice surrounding it make it near impossible to get in and out of the island. Trying could cost you your life. Only a few Ice people have ever made it out of Ice to come live in other parts of the world, and only a few exploreres have ever gotten inside the island. They were never seen again.
These are all the lands and islands that have been discovered. We trust our explorers, however, to find more strange new lands soon.

An Introduction to Rynn

This was the first map of Rynn ever created. It was added to over the years, until finally a new map was created...
The most recent map made of Rynn. As you can see, several lands that were previously undiscovered now are on the map.
Rynn is the land of paperdolls. Of our family, my older sister, Jordan, first started drawing them. She drew medieval and egyptian paperdolls. I followed her lead, but came up with the whole fantasy idea. I made the paperdoll world and named it.
Over the nine years that I have been creating paperdolls I have added more and more to it, so now it's pretty big.
I tried to make a book about them, but decided blogging might be easier. The only problem now is that our scanner broke and so I have to take pictures of everything now instead of simply scanning them. This is difficult to do with paper, so sorry if you can't make out some words. Hopefully I will find a new scanner soon.
